In their honor..

IAA is hosting a Freshmen Picnic on Sunday, September 10th to welcome the 2006 incoming freshmen. The event will take place at Tyson Park and will start at 2 PM. Contact Geet Parekh at gparekh@utk.edu for directions and other questions.

Also, for those interested- the Muslim Student Association is holding an icecream social on the same date and location at 5 PM.

Garba Nite!

In celebration of the Hindu holiday, Navratri, the Indian American Association, in conjunction with Manthan, is hosting Garba Nite!- an Indian dance event- on Friday, September 22nd at 7 PM in the UT HPER building. Come join in on all the fun and excitment of this traditional Gujarati folk dance!

Manthan Diwali

On Saturday, October 22nd, come out and support Manthan, a fellow UTK Indian organization, in their celebration of Diwali. The show will be held in the University Center at 2 PM. Lunch will be served 12. Contact Vikas at manthan@utk.edu for more information.

UTK IAA Diwali

On Saturday, October 28th, the Indian American Association at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, along with the International House and the Cultural Attractions Committee, will host their biggest event of the school year- Diwali: Ek Raat Ki Roshni. Come enjoy a night filled with the energy of Indian songs and dance, the humor of Indian-American comedy, and the fascinating intrigue of the exotic land which is India.

Location: Clarence Brown Theatre on the University of TN campus
Time: Reception at 6 PM. The show will commence at 7 PM.
